Distortion Cognitive Bias of AI

On the eve of the publication of the European Commission’s guidelines on the use of Artificial Intelligence systems, especially in the field of video surveillance, where the starting point is represented by an adequate and primary defense of the security and fundamental rights of individuals, the serious episode occurred in the American State of Michigan appears very significant.

The Civil Rights Litigation Initiative (CRLI) of the University of Michigan School of Law, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the ACLU of Michigan, filed a federal lawsuit, on behalf of Farmington Hills resident, Robert Williams!

The massive use of Artificial Intelligence systems is beginning to strongly affect the financial sector. It is no coincidence that a number of organizations that regulate finance in the United States have launched an RFI (request for information), which will expire on June 1st, to indicate the key points to be resolved. …

UNICEF’s Office of Global Insight and Policy issued a first draft report on Artificial Intelligence in relation to children, “Policy guidance on AI for children,” in September 2020. A guarantor of children in 190 countries around the world, UNICEF aims with this work to “more effectively shape the global discourse and prepare it for the future by scanning the horizon on frontier issues and ways of working.”

“Artificial intelligence (AI) systems are fundamentally changing the world and influencing present and future generations of children. Children already interact with AI technologies in many different ways: they are embedded in tools, virtual…

Distorsione Bias Cognitivi dell’IA

New Diagnostic Methods

On January 6 of this year, the U.S. Food And Drug Administration issued, following a draft submitted in September 2019, a document containing the “Blueprint for Safer Technologies for Medical Devices — Guidance for Industry and Food and Drug Administration Staff.
The introduction provides clarity, explaining that: “FDA is introducing a new voluntary program for certain medical devices and device-guided combination products that should, reasonably, significantly improve the safety of currently available treatments or diagnostics….” …

I happened to come across a document, issued by the Department of Justice of the State of Israel, which opens a public consultation, regarding the regulation of self-driving vehicles. Dated February 8, it bears the title, translated of course, of “Towards the Regulation of the Use of Self-Driving Vehicles — an Application for a Public Position in the Field of Liability and Insurance.

The incipit of the paper is a valid invitation to continue reading: “Technological innovation is commonly seen as including one or more of the following components: autonomous, electric, connectivity, and cooperative, when each of these components is…
